Nu Metal News 14 September 2026: Evanescence Unite At The O2, Spiritbox Debut Mourning, Motionless In White Book Europe

Nu Metal News 14 September 2026

Nu Metal News 14 September 2026, welcome to Monday. Three of the biggest voices in heavy music finally shared a stage in London, Spiritbox opened their European run with a song nobody had heard live yet, Motionless In White planted seven flags across Europe for 2027, and a Buffalo metalcore band handed the drum stool back to the man who built the parts. There is also a Swedish video worth your four minutes, an Atlanta single worth your three, and a Belgian debut album that took the long road to a proper release.

Evanescence, Poppy And Courtney LaPlante Finally Play End Of You Together

On Saturday night at The O2 in London, Evanescence brought Poppy and Spiritbox vocalist Courtney LaPlante out together for “End Of You”, and for the first time the song existed on a stage exactly as it exists on record. All three voices, in the same room, trading the same lines. The track landed in 2025 through Sumerian Records and has spent the year since becoming the rare crossover single that people from three different corners of heavy music all claim as theirs.

This was not the song’s live debut in the strictest sense. Evanescence and Poppy had already run it earlier in the UK leg, at Leeds and again in Manchester, with Amy Lee and Poppy covering LaPlante’s part between them. What London added was the missing third. It arrived late in a set that had already gone through “Bring Me To Life” and “Imaginary”, which is a generous piece of programming: put the new collaboration where the room is hottest rather than burying it in the middle.

Lee has been clear about what the song is reaching for. She has described it as being about “challenging the norms and showing how strong we are”, and the arrangement backs that up, handing each singer a register the other two do not touch. Poppy takes the brittle top end, LaPlante takes the throat, Lee takes the melody and the weight. Live, the handoffs are the whole point, and the London footage circulating since Saturday shows all three of them grinning through it.

The run is part of the Sanctuary touring cycle, built around this year’s album of the same name. If you have been following the recent European routing in this column, from Electric Callboy taking Bloodywood across the continent to the Bloodstock announcements, this is the other end of the same trend: the big rooms are getting collaborative, and the guest spot has stopped being a gimmick.

Spiritbox Give Mourning Its First Airing In Glasgow

Spiritbox, “Mourning” (official video)

Spiritbox opened their European and UK headline run in Glasgow and used the first night to put “Mourning” in front of a crowd. The single had only been out a matter of days, released through Rise Records, so the Glasgow room got it while the studio version was still settling. Footage went up within hours. Jinjer and Dying Wish are along for the whole run, which is about as strong a three-band bill as anyone is putting on a European stage this autumn.

One thing worth flagging, because the reporting is not consistent. Coverage of the Glasgow show places it on Friday 12 September, while the same write-ups list the headline run as beginning on 14 September and finishing on 9 October. Both statements cannot be literally true, and the likeliest reading is that Glasgow was the warm-up date sitting just outside the advertised routing. Either way, the song has been played, and the tour continues through Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium and France.

“Mourning” itself is the band leaning into space rather than density. Courtney LaPlante spends most of it in her clean register, the low end holds back until it does not, and the drop lands harder for the wait. It is a smart choice for a tour opener too, because it gives the set a breathing point that the older material simply does not have. Anyone who caught the full Graspop set Guilt Trip put online over the weekend will recognise the impulse: bands are treating live footage as the release now, not the afterthought.

Motionless In White Book Seven European Headline Shows For 2027

Motionless In White have announced seven headline dates across Europe for next summer, and they are billing them as their only European headline shows of 2027. The routing runs 8 June in Zurich, 13 June in Budapest, 14 June in Ljubljana, 16 June in Milan, 21 June in Lille, 29 June in Athens and 4 July in Lisbon. Tickets go on sale Friday 18 September at 10am local time through the band’s own site.

What makes this more interesting than a standard seven-date run is the promise that each show carries its own curated lineup rather than one support package dragged across the continent. That is a harder booking job and a more expensive one, and it is the kind of thing bands do when they want each night to feel like an event rather than a stop. Support acts have not been named city by city yet.

Look at the map and the choices say something. Ljubljana, Athens and Lisbon are not filler markets, they are cities that rarely get a headline visit from a band at this level, and putting them on a seven-date run instead of the usual German and Dutch anchors is a real decision. If you are already planning around these, our festival and show outfit survival guide covers what actually survives a June night in southern Europe.

Before any of that, the band have North American dates through September and October of this year alongside Bring Me The Horizon and The Plot In You. So the 2027 European run is being announced with a full touring autumn still in front of it, which is usually a sign the calendar is being built rather than filled.

Allt Put High Hopes On Film

Allt, “High Hopes” (official video)

Swedish progressive metalcore outfit Allt have released a video for “High Hopes”, lifted from Ataraxia, the album they put out through Century Media in July. Riivata Visuals directed. It is a good-looking piece of work that resists the temptation to cut on every snare, and it gives the song room to do what it already does well on record.

The band describe the track as being about “becoming so used to feeling depressed that feeling good starts to scare you”, which is an unusually precise thing to say about a metalcore single, and the writing matches it. The chorus does not resolve where you expect. It keeps reaching for a lift and then pulling the harmony back down a step, so the relief never quite arrives. That is a deliberate piece of songwriting, not an accident of production.

Allt have a European and UK run booked from 7 November, opening in Nottingham and finishing in Stockholm on 6 December, with Avralize and Bite Down supporting throughout. A Swedish band closing a European tour at home in December is a nice bit of routing, and on this evidence the newer material should carry a headline set comfortably.

It Dies Today Hand The Drum Stool Back To Nick Mirusso

It Dies Today mark twenty years of Sirens in Buffalo on 7 November.

It Dies Today have confirmed that Nick Mirusso is returning to the band permanently, and that John Runkle will step down from the kit after their twentieth anniversary show for Sirens. The two of them will split the setlist on the night, which is a genuinely generous way to handle a changeover and a much better idea than a quiet swap between tours.

What lifts this above a routine lineup note is who pushed for it. Runkle, who joined when the band reformed in 2024, said that Mirusso “brings an intangible to the sound of this band” and made a point of adding that the move was entirely his own idea. Mirusso, for his part, called the prospect surreal and said simply that he is excited and grateful. Runkle is staying involved with the band in another capacity.

The show itself is 7 November at Rec Room in Buffalo, New York, presented by After Dark Presents, with All Out War, Gemstar, Sicksense, Autoignition and Jeweltone on the bill. Twenty years on from Sirens, in their own city, with both drummers playing. That is how you mark a record. Compare it with the bigger lineup rebuilds we covered last week and the difference in tone is striking.

Rapidly Aging Follow Unsaved Toward A Debut LP

Graphic card reading Rapidly Aging, Unsaved, Atlanta post-heavy, debut LP lands 2 October
Rapidly Aging release You’re Not Yourself Lately on 2 October.

Out of Atlanta, Rapidly Aging have shared “Unsaved”, the second single from debut album You’re Not Yourself Lately, due 2 October through Fig On Wrist. The project is led by Shalor Howell of Canopy, and the record was tracked at Meadowlark Studios in Atlanta with Greg Hendler engineering.

“Post-heavy” is the tag being used, and for once it is doing real work rather than dodging a genre. The song is built on repetition and slow accumulation rather than riff-to-riff momentum, and the payoff comes from texture thickening underneath a part that barely changes. If you came up on the quieter end of the late nineties, the shape of this will feel familiar even though nothing about it is retro.

Two singles in, this is the sort of release that lives or dies on whether people hear it before release week. The pre-order is up on Bandcamp, which is the version of support that actually reaches the band. Give it a listen before October arrives and the calendar fills up.

Virgin Prozak Give Sinecure A Proper Release

Virgin Prozak, “Magic Powder”, the track that opens Sinecure

Our featured band today is Virgin Prozak, a trio from Namur in Belgium who have been at this since 2017 and have two Plethora EPs behind them. Sinecure is their first full length, eight tracks of heavy rock with grunge in the blood and punk in the teeth, and it is now getting a label release through Score A/V.

There is a date worth untangling here. The album page on the band’s own Bandcamp carries a November 2025 stamp, while the current press cycle puts the release on 14 September 2026. The straightforward reading is that the band put the record out themselves first and Score A/V are giving it the wider push now. We are flagging it rather than picking one, because both are the band’s own dates and both are real.

The reference points they offer are Jane’s Addiction, Queens of the Stone Age and Every Time I Die, and the record earns all three without sounding like a tribute to any of them. “Magic Powder” opens it and sets the terms: a riff that swings rather than chugs, a rhythm section that plays slightly behind the beat, and a vocal that sounds like it was cut in one take because it probably was. Their stated aim is “no gimmicks, no overproduction, no compromise”, and the mix keeps that promise.

The rest of the eight runs through “Cheer The Queen”, “Kerosene”, “Teddy Chaos”, “Tale Of A Broken Man”, “To All Noises”, “Blow Up” and “Room”. It is a short record that does not overstay, and it is the kind of debut that makes far more sense loud and in a small room than through a phone speaker. Belgium has quietly been turning out bands like this for years.

Namur, Belgium. Heavy rock, grunge and punk in a three-piece, debut album Sinecure out now on Score A/V.

Looking Ahead: A Very Busy Friday

Friday 18 September is doing a lot of work this week. Motionless In White tickets for the 2027 European run go live at 10am local time, and Justifications release their debut single “Urge To Kill” the same day. Two very different scales of release landing in the same morning, which is roughly the shape of this scene in 2026.

Further out: Rapidly Aging’s You’re Not Yourself Lately arrives 2 October, and 7 November is shaping up to be a date worth circling, with Allt opening their European tour in Nottingham and It Dies Today playing the Sirens anniversary show in Buffalo on the same night.

And on the horizon rather than the calendar, Korn. Reports earlier this month indicated that drum tracking for the band’s fifteenth studio album is finished, with Ray Luzier posting from the session. No title, no date, no confirmation of anything beyond drums being done, so treat it as a signal rather than an announcement. We will chase it properly the moment there is something firm to chase.

Nu Metal News 14 September 2026, Your Questions

Did Evanescence, Poppy and Courtney LaPlante really play “End Of You” together for the first time?

Together, yes. Evanescence and Poppy had already performed the song earlier in the UK leg, at Leeds and Manchester, with Amy Lee and Poppy splitting Courtney LaPlante’s part. The London show at The O2 on 13 September 2026 was the first time all three singers performed it on the same stage.

When did Spiritbox first play “Mourning” live?

At the opening night of their European and UK headline run in Glasgow. Coverage places that show on 12 September 2026, while the same reports describe the advertised run as starting on 14 September, so Glasgow looks like a warm-up date sitting just outside the official routing. Jinjer and Dying Wish support throughout.

When do Motionless In White tickets for the 2027 European shows go on sale?

Friday 18 September 2026 at 10am local time, through motionlessinwhite.net. The seven dates are Zurich on 8 June, Budapest on 13 June, Ljubljana on 14 June, Milan on 16 June, Lille on 21 June, Athens on 29 June and Lisbon on 4 July 2027.

Is John Runkle leaving It Dies Today?

He is stepping down from the drum stool after the twentieth anniversary show for Sirens on 7 November 2026 at Rec Room in Buffalo, with Nick Mirusso returning permanently. Both drummers will split that setlist, and Runkle has said he is staying involved with the band in another capacity.

Why do two different release dates appear for Virgin Prozak’s Sinecure?

The band’s own Bandcamp page carries a November 2025 date and the current press cycle points to 14 September 2026. The most likely explanation is a self-released version followed by a wider label release through Score A/V. Both dates come from the band’s own channels, so we are reporting both rather than choosing one.
