Nu Metal News 11 October 2026, welcome to Sunday. Tonight a nu metal guitarist plays to the largest audience this genre has had in years, and she is doing it between plays at an NFL game. Elsewhere a British band have found a label home in the best possible week, Employed To Serve have brought a Dane in to make a circle pit worse, and a 1998 split that only ever existed on CD is finally getting pressed.
Diamond Rowe Takes Tetrarch To Primetime

Tetrarch guitarist Diamond Rowe performs tonight during Sunday Night Football, when the Baltimore Ravens visit the Atlanta Falcons at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Kick off is 8:20pm Eastern on NBC. Rowe has said the performance was put together with the Falcons organisation, and exactly what it involves has been kept quiet, which is the correct way to handle a surprise.
It is worth sitting with how big this is. Sunday Night Football is routinely the most watched programme on American television. Metal guitar does not get handed that slot. When it has, it has usually been a legacy act wheeled out for nostalgia, not a working band on an upward curve playing the kind of heavy, groove led music that actually sells tickets in 2026.
Rowe has been quietly collecting firsts for a while. In 2024 she became the first female signature artist in Jackson’s history, which for a company with that back catalogue is not a small sentence. She co-founded Tetrarch in high school in Atlanta, which makes a hometown stadium the right room for this, and she has spent a decade being one of the few people in this genre writing actual solos into songs built on groove.
If you have been reading this column for the aesthetic end of things, this is the other half of that story: nu metal is not just being rediscovered by people buying the clothes, it is being handed the biggest stage in American broadcasting. Our guide to how the nu metal look got here covers the first half.
Employed To Serve Call In Cabal For Absolute Onslaught
Employed To Serve have released Absolute Onslaught with Andreas Bjulver of Danish outfit Cabal guesting. Justine Jones called it “a straight up rager, purely designed to get that circle pit moving on our upcoming run with Cabal”, which is an unusually honest description of why a song exists and makes it more likeable rather than less.

The favour runs both ways. Jones guested on Cabal’s Hurt Me, so this is two bands who already know what the other one does writing something specifically for the room they are about to share. That run is a co-headline across the UK and Europe: twenty one November dates from Brighton’s Patterns on the 6th through Munich’s Feierwerk on the 30th, then Martigny, Antwerp, Paris and Lyon into early December.
This is their third new song of 2026 after A Moment Gone Too Soon and Dead Reckoning. Three singles and no album announcement is a band drip feeding deliberately, and given how front loaded the autumn release calendar already is, holding the record back looks like good sense rather than indecision. Enter Shikari did something similar on Thursday and simply dropped the thing with no warning at all.
Ignite Set A Self-Titled For January

Orange County’s Ignite have announced a new album for January and put out two songs from it at once, Still Wide Awake and Guilty Wounds. Thirty years in, they remain one of the few melodic hardcore bands whose choruses genuinely soar rather than just getting louder, and releasing a pair of singles rather than one is a band confident the record holds up.
They sit at the edge of what this column covers, but the overlap is real: half the bands in these pages learned how to put a melody over a hardcore riff from records like A Place Called Home. A January release is also smart positioning, landing in the dead month when nothing else competes for attention.
The Dillinger Escape Plan And Nora’s 1998 Split Finally Hits Vinyl

The split The Dillinger Escape Plan shared with New Jersey’s Nora in 1998 is getting its first vinyl pressing, in two colour variants. For a record that old from a band that influential, it is genuinely surprising this has taken twenty eight years, and it is a reminder that Dillinger existed as a scrappy New Jersey hardcore band before Calculating Infinity rewrote what people thought was possible.
Nora deserve the attention this brings them. They were heavier and more straightforwardly furious than their splitmates and never got the same reappraisal. Putting both bands on the same piece of wax, finally, gives people a reason to hear the second half of the record rather than just the half with the famous name on it.
Cancer Bats Take Heriot To Australia

Cancer Bats have announced early 2027 Australian dates with Heriot, and have also recorded a session for Marshall’s Studio Sessions. Heriot are the pick here: they have spent three years being the most interesting heavy band in Britain, and pairing them with a group who have been relentlessly good live for two decades is a bill with no weak half.
Australia keeps turning up in this column. Friday brought Nickelback booking four continents, and before that Quicksand announced their own run down there. After years of bands writing the territory off as too far and too expensive, the routing is coming back, and that is good news for anyone who has spent a decade watching tours stop at Los Angeles.
Featured Band: Greysight Sign To Seek & Strike For Violence In Bloom
Greysight are a British nu metalcore band, and this week they signed to Seek & Strike and announced a six track EP, VIOLENCE IN BLOOM, for 6 November. The title track has a video, and a second song, DON’T LOOK AT ME, is already streaming. The full running order is VIOLENCE IN BLOOM, DON’T LOOK AT ME, ASTRAY, EGO DEATH, LOST SIGHT and RECEIPT.
The title track is the right one to lead with. It opens on a riff that is more rhythm than melody, holds the tension through a verse that stays almost conversational, then lets the chorus arrive without the overproduced polish that flattens a lot of bands in this lane. There is real restraint in it, which is rare in a first single on a new label.
Six tracks is also the right length for where they are. Long enough to show range across ASTRAY and EGO DEATH, short enough that nobody has to sit through filler to find out whether the band is any good. Their earlier single lethophobia is still up on their own channel and worth your time if you want to hear how quickly they have tightened up.
Greysight
British nu metalcore. Six tracks on Seek & Strike from 6 November, built on riffs that lean on groove rather than speed, and a vocal that knows when to stay quiet. One of the better signings this autumn.
Looking Ahead: 6 November And A Long November On The Road
Greysight’s EP shares 6 November with the deluxe Last Night On Earth we covered in Saturday’s column, and that same night Employed To Serve and Cabal open their co-headline run in Brighton. November is going to be busy in a way the last few have not been. December then belongs to the touring bands, with Hollywood Undead crossing Europe and the UK among them.
