Nu Metal News 17 September 2026, welcome to Thursday. The biggest metal band on the planet just handed a nu metal institution twelve stadiums, Orlando opened the door on album eleven, Guadalajara booked its first headline run across the United States, and a masked London crew put together one of the most purely nu metal touring packages of the autumn. Here is everything worth your time from the last forty eight hours, big names and small, with the links you need to go further.
Metallica Hand Limp Bizkit Twelve Stadiums

Metallica confirmed the 2027 North American leg of the M72 World Tour on Tuesday, and the support billing is the part that matters here: Limp Bizkit and Sweden’s Avatar are on all twelve dates. That is twelve stadiums, the in the round stage at the fifty yard line, and the Snake Pit wrapped all the way around it. The run opens 8 May at BC Place in Vancouver and closes 19 June at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City.
The routing is deliberately unusual. Rather than the same ten markets every arena tour visits, the band have gone to El Paso, Fayetteville, Madison and Buffalo, putting a stadium show in college towns that almost never get one. San Diego, San Antonio, Kansas City, Raleigh, Indianapolis and Cleveland fill out the twelve. Tickets go on general sale Friday 25 September at 10am local, with the fan club presale starting Monday 21 September and card and carrier presales running through that week. Proceeds again go to the band’s All Within My Hands foundation.
For Limp Bizkit this is the logical top of a year that has been building since spring. We have watched their festival routing fill up all month, from the Louder Than Life run and the Stage Tour additions we covered on 10 September, and a stadium support slot in front of a Metallica crowd is a different order of room again. Fred Durst and company have spent the last few years proving that the songs land just as hard on a fifty thousand capacity field as they did in a club, and this is the booking that tests it twelve times over.
Avatar are a smart third name on the bill too. They are theatrical enough to hold a stadium before dark and heavy enough that nobody in the pit feels short changed, which is exactly the job an opener has at that scale.
Trivium Open Album Eleven With Dead Inside Of Me
Trivium put out “Dead Inside Of Me” on Tuesday, the first song from their eleventh album. It is a groove record more than a technical one, built on a chug that sits right in the pocket and a chorus written to be shouted back. The flourishes between sections are where the band’s real hands show up, but the spine of the song is deliberately simple, and that restraint is the most interesting decision on it.
Bassist Paolo Gregoletto has explained that the track grew out of a riff he had been carrying for five or six years under the working title “Slam”, and that the trick was treating a death metal riff like a stadium rock song. That is a neat description of what Trivium have always done well: take something written for a basement and arrange it for a much bigger room without sanding the edges off it.
The timing is not accidental. Trivium headline North America this autumn with In Flames, supported by Orbit Culture, Fit For An Autopsy and Frozen Soul, running 5 November through 19 December across more than thirty dates. A lead single that is this easy to learn on first listen is the right kind of song to put in front of a crowd that has six weeks to memorise it.
BLACKGOLD, Sumo Cyco And Hyro The Hero Build The Autumn Package

If you want the most purely nu metal touring bill announced this week, it is this one. Masked London crew BLACKGOLD take a November and December run across Europe with Hamilton’s Sumo Cyco in support throughout, and Houston’s Hyro The Hero joining for the final two shows in Antwerp and Paris.
The European leg opens 18 November at dB’s in Utrecht and runs through Cologne, Hamburg, Copenhagen, Berlin, Warsaw, Bielsko-Biala, Prague, Vienna and Nuremberg before the Antwerp and Paris finale on 2 and 3 December. Ahead of that, BLACKGOLD play six UK dates from 28 October, with PENGSHUi and Indigo Blaze on the Bristol, London, Torquay and Manchester shows and Deadwax and Indigo Blaze on Glasgow and Birmingham.
What makes the package work is that none of the three do the same thing. BLACKGOLD are the riff and the theatre, masks and hooks and a low end that does not apologise. Sumo Cyco run on Skye Sweetnam’s voice and a dancehall bounce that turns a metal room into something looser. Hyro The Hero is the rap side of the equation played straight, with the delivery of somebody who came up in Houston and never pretended otherwise. Three bands, three angles on the same idea, and a room that gets all of it in one night.
It also continues a pattern we have been tracking in this column, with mid sized heavy acts routing Europe properly rather than dropping in for two festival dates. Motionless In White booked seven European headline shows for 2027 earlier this week on the same logic.
Ladrones Headline America For The First Time
This is the one to pay attention to today. Ladrones, from Guadalajara, have announced Arriba La L, their first ever headlining tour of the United States. Sixteen dates, 13 November through 4 December, opening at Trees in Dallas and closing at the Black Sheep in Colorado Springs, with Empty Shell Casing along for the whole run. General on sale is Friday 18 September at 10am local, and presale and VIP tickets are already moving.
The route is a proper one rather than a coastal sampler: Dallas, Corpus Christi, Austin, San Antonio, El Paso, Tucson, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Roseville, Boise, Portland, Seattle, Salt Lake City, Denver and Colorado Springs. “It is our first time headlining across the States,” the band said in the announcement, “and we are bringing the flow pesado everywhere we go.”
Flow pesado is their own word for it, and it is a good one. Ladrones braid rap, metal and Mexican regional music together so tightly that pulling one thread out would collapse the whole thing. The guitars come from the technical and progressive end of heavy music rather than from 1999, the rhythm section drifts toward reggaeton and dembow whenever it feels like it, and Zxmyr and Cirujano Resendez trade verses over the top of it. It should not be as catchy as it is.
They have been building toward this for a while. The band formed in 2021, have played the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City and Welcome To Rockville in Daytona Beach, and Arriba La L is their third album. One note on the paperwork: their own site lists Alzada as label and Mexican booking, while The Nu-Metal Agenda reported a Rise Records signing in March. Both may well be true at once, on different sides of the border.
Featured band: Ladrones
Ladrones are five people from Guadalajara, Jalisco who decided that rap, metal and the music their families actually listen to all belonged in the same song. Zxmyr takes the lead vocal, Cirujano Resendez answers him, Jose Macario writes and produces the guitars, Diego Zornoza plays the drums and Alan Ledesma produces. They have been at it since 2021 and they sound like nobody else on a festival bill.
“Arriba La L” is the title track and the best way in. It opens with the kind of guitar figure you would expect from a progressive band, drops into a beat you could play in a club, and then hands the whole thing to two emcees who treat the riff as something to ride rather than something to shout over. The technical playing never turns into showing off, because the song is always heading somewhere you can sing.
The record it comes from is their third, and it is the one that has earned them a headline tour of a country they have only ever visited as a support act or a festival name. Sixteen shows, their own stage time, their own setlist, their own crowd. If they come within three hours of you in November, go.
Mirrors Sign To Greyscale And Name The Red Sky
Australian metalcore band Mirrors have signed to Greyscale Records for their second album, The Red Sky, out 27 November. Eleven tracks, pre orders open now through the label, and the opener “Devil’s Due” arrived on Tuesday with a video directed by Colin Jeffs.
“Devil’s Due” is about recognising what, or who, needs to be cast aside in order to become better for yourself and the people around you, which is a more generous way of framing that idea than the genre usually manages. The band have described the record as being about the moments everyone eventually hits, loss included, and what gets built afterwards. That is a heavier subject than a first single normally carries, and the song is better for not flinching from it.
Greyscale have quietly become one of the better homes for Australian heavy music, and signing a band for a second record rather than a debut suggests a label backing something it already believes in. Worth a pre order if the video lands for you.
P.O.D., Ministry And The Devil Wears Prada Fill Out Good Things Week

Good Things Festival runs Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane on 4, 5 and 6 December, and the sideshow list around it is now public. For this column the headline is P.O.D., who take three of their own rooms with Ocean Grove opening: 29 November at The Triffid in Brisbane, 1 December at The Gov in Adelaide and 2 December at 170 Russell in Melbourne.
Ministry have billed theirs as a farewell to Australia, 8 December at Liberty Hall in Sydney and 10 December at Hindley Street Music Hall in Adelaide. The Devil Wears Prada bring Future Palace to Adelaide on 2 December and Brisbane on 8 December. Bilmuri crosses to New Zealand for Wellington on the 8th and Auckland on the 9th, and The Black Queen play a tenth anniversary run through Fever Daydream in Perth and Melbourne.
Add All Them Witches, Locked Shut, House Of Protection and vianova and it is a full fortnight of shows rather than a festival with a couple of add ons. Australian promoters have been running this play well for years, and after Bloodstock added eighteen more names to its 2027 bill earlier this week, it is a useful reminder that the festival itself is only half of what a lineup announcement is worth.
PeelingFlesh Fill A Self-Titled Record With Guests

PeelingFlesh have announced a self-titled album for 27 November through Unique Leader Records, and debuted “Murderous Intent” with Mike Ryan of Missing Link on it. Mychal Soto produced, mixed and mastered, Dave Otero engineered, and the guest list runs deep: Devin Swank of Sanguisugabogg on “Wig Split”, JayWay of Bayway on “Lethal Interjection”, Bridget Lynch of Stabbing on “No Alibi” and Extermination Dismemberment on “It’s Goin Down Part 2”.
Frontman Damonteal Harris called it ruthless and vicious, and said it solidifies the Oklahoma and New York connection the band have been working since the start. The record moves between Drop G and Drop F, which tells you most of what you need to know about where the floor is.
Guest heavy albums have been the story of the month generally. Falling In Reverse put Corey Taylor and Serj Tankian on the same song on Tuesday, and PeelingFlesh are doing the underground version of the same idea: a record that doubles as a map of who they run with.
Looking Ahead: Friday, Then November
Tomorrow brings the Ladrones general on sale at 10am local, and the Metallica fan club presale opens Monday ahead of the 25 September general. If you want Vancouver or Salt Lake City, those are the two dates at either end of the run and historically the ones that move fastest.
Further out, November is filling up in a way October did not. The BLACKGOLD European leg starts on the 18th, Ladrones open in Dallas on the 13th, Trivium and In Flames begin on 5 November, and both The Red Sky and the PeelingFlesh album land on 27 November. That is four separate reasons to keep the last two weeks of the month clear. Yesterday’s column had the Rock am Ring and Rock im Park first wave if you are already planning summer 2027, and if you are, our festival outfit guide is the practical half of that.
